BANGKOK, May 21 (TNA) – The trade war between China and the United States would not have any significant impact on Thailand, Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha said.
The government attached special importance to the trade conflict between the two countries, especially its part concerning technology which attracted public interest.
However, the government did not think there would be any serious impact on Thailand, he said.
The trade war affected many countries that depended on exports and he ordered the Commerce Ministry to find new markets, especially small countries, the prime minister said.
Gen Prayut would meet representatives of the private sector tomorrow to discuss the impacts of the trade war. He also said the Association of Southeast Asian Nations would discuss measures to cope with its impacts. (TNA)
