BANGKOK, DEC 18 (TNA) – Tourism Authority of Thailand
(TAT) launches “Amazing Thailand” hashtag for local tourists to share their
local experiences to the so-called 55 secondary tourist destinations.
TAT introduces the campaign promoting tourism through online
platforms aiming to encourage Thai tourists to 55 secondary tourist
destinations nationwide, in line with its ‘Amazing Thailand Go Local’ campaign.
TAT Governor Yuthasak Supasorn said Tuesday the campaign was
expected to boost local tourism by letting tourists to share their interesting
stories of the 55 destinations using hashtags in Thai. It would draw Thai
people to pay more attention to the value of the kingdom’s local culture,
traditional wisdom and livelihood.
The Governor said TAT forecast domestic tourism would grow
10.4 percent next year, generating Bt1.18 trillion in revenue.
For the New Year period from December 29 to January 1, the
TAT projected 520,000 foreign tourists and 2.7 million Thai tourists to travel
in the kingdom.
The 55 secondary destinations have been under TAT vigorous
campaigns in the hope for more equal income distribution and promotions of
local wisdoms in the forms of arts and crafts, local food and local tour
