BANGKOK, July 25 (TNA) – Thailand and Hong Kong agreed to set up a high-level working group to further promote strategic partnership for tangible cooperation in financial and capital market, human resource development, digital, startups and SMEs.
Peter Lam, chairman of the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) and the delegation met Deputy Prime Minister, Somkid Jatusripitak during his visit to Thailand on Wednesday.
The Deputy Prime Minister affirmed the Thai Government’s priority on the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) project, where there are still plenty of opportunities for the cooperation between Thailand, China, and Hong Kong.
HKTDC chairman thanked the Deputy Prime Minister for accepting his invitation to visit Hong Kong this coming October.
Hong Kong commits to provide support to Thai startups and SMEs, especially through exchange of knowledge and experiences, capacity enhancement of partnership between industrial groups, cooperation promotion with international markets, personnel development, and technology transfer.
Thailand stands ready to act as gateway between ASEAN and the Guangdong – Hong Kong – Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) through the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI). (TNA)
