BANGKOK, June 4 (TNA) – The Commerce Ministry is looking for
ways to boost exports to ease the impacts of the US-China trade war.
As the county’s total exports for the first four months of
this year continued to contract due in large part to the intensifying trade
war, Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha has instructed the Commerce Minister to
find ways for explore new market opportunities for Thai exports, Lt Gen
Weerachon Sukhontapitipak, Deputy Government Spokesman, said Monday.
The premier urged related agencies to speedup free trade
agreements to increase business opportunities, he said.
Amid growing tension between the US and China and other
external factors, the Commerce Ministry has revised its export growth
projection this year to 3 percent.
Thailand’s exports fell 2.6% in April, dropping to US$18.5
billion, the lowest level since May 2017.(TNA)
