BANGKOK, May 23 (TNA) – Mingkwan Sangsuwan resigned as New Economics Party leader but he remains a party-list MP.
His resignation letter was posted on his Facebook account, saying his duties as the party leader were to draft the party’s policy on the new economic system and to meet public and media members.
After the elections, it is now at the appropriate time to resign from his post as the party leader.
However, his status as the party’s member and a party-list MP still remains.
The party’s first deputy leader, Supadit Arkhatruek will take the post as the acting party leader until the new party executives will be elected.
His resignation was put into effect on May 22. (TNA)
