BANGKOK, Feb 13 (TNA) – Thai Raksa Chart party will submit a petition to the Constitutional Court to acknowledge the Election Commission (EC)’s accusations against to party, so they will prepare to fight in court.
The party’s reaction came after the decision by the EC on Wednesday to seek the Constitutional Court’s ruling on whether the Thai Raksa Chart party should be dissolved over its controversial nomination of Princess Ubolratana as its sole prime ministerial candidate.
The party’s chief legal adviser, Pichit Chuenban, said its legal working committee would submit a plea to the Constitutional Court to acknowledge the alleged wrongdoing, accused by the EC.
Pichit said the party will exercise their right to fight in the court. Its action is not defiance but the party wants to ask for fairness.
He said the party candidates should not lose their morale because the party status will end only if the Constitutional Court rules to disband it.
The party leader Preechapol Pongpanich said its MP candidates will go ahead with election campaign. He will canvass for votes next week.
The part early today asked the EC to give it a chance to clarify the fact just before the EC forwarded its recommendation to the court. (TNA)
