BANGKOK, Jan 21 (TNA) — The Tourism Authority of Thailand and the Thai Hotels Association launch a campaign for member hotels to reduce their use of single-use plastics.
Deputy TAT governor Srisuda Wanapinyosak said the project was aimed at environmental conservation. Local hotels would be encouraged to reduce or stop single-use plastics and other tourism-related operators including tour guide and online tour reservation companies were advised to choose participating hotels.
The reduction of single-use plastics at hotels covers plastic containers of products used in toilets, laundry and garbage bags, water bottles, straws, and food and beverage packages.
In return, the TAT would invite participating hotels to its trade shows and road shows and promote them, Ms Srisuda said. (TNA)
