UBON RATCHATHANI, Nov 26 (TNA) – Ubon Ratchathani Zoo will open the exhibit zone for a large flock of flamingos in December for the New Year’s celebration.
Zoo officials now look after 44 flamingos, considered the biggest flock in captivity in Thailand’s northeast. The birds are now adapting themselves to the new home after they were moved from Dusit Zoo, which is permanently closed.
The exhibit area, where the flamingos are staying has not been opened but many visitors peek in through the net curtain to see the beautiful birds.
The total 34 kinds of 242 animals from Dusit Zoo are placed in the care of Ubon Ratchathani Zoo. It will receive newcomers including crocodiles and orangutans from Dusit Zoo by December.
Dusit Zoo was closed down at the end of September and will be relocated to the new place in Pathum Thani province. The construction of the new zoo has not finished yet. (TNA)
