BANGKOK, April 13 (TNA) — Charoen Pokphand Group (CP) will start its production of surgical masks for free distribution on April 16.
Designed to make 3 million masks a month, its plant will send the products to medical personnel first.
CP stated that its 100-million-baht surgical mask plant was completed. Its senior chairman Dhanin Chearavanont thanked his subordinates for completing the 100-million-baht plant within five weeks as planned.
The new plant has its capacity of producing 3 million masks per month and the products will first go to medical personnel through King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital.
CP said it was ready to increase the production capacity to help Thai people cope with the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
Approved by the Food and Drug Administration, the mask production at the plant was set to begin on April 16.
The plant is on the third floor of the building of Kasetphand Industry Co in Phra Pradaeng district, Samut Prakan. A clean-room environment was developed there to support the production of surgical masks. The plant needs only one worker to operate its machines for the production. (TNA)
