SONGKHLA, March 17 (TNA) – Thai workers in Malaysia are
returning home after the neighbouring country has announced a movement
restriction order to contain the spread of Covid-19.
At the border crossing in Sadao district of Songkhla
province, many Thai migrant workers and foreigners have opted to move out of
Malaysia before the order becomes effective from March 18 to March 31.
Some of them said they were confused over the order; whether
it is applicable to only Malaysians or people of all nationalities.
The travelers have to go through health checks and take
14-day self-quarantine.
Songkhla provincial governor Jaruwat Klaingklao said that
two Muslims who developed fever after returning from Malaysia had been
hospitalized and diagnosed.
Other returnees must be in self-isolation even though they
did not have fever or other illnesses, he said. (TNA)
