BANGKOK, March 11 (TNA) – China offers to help Thailand fight against the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) as its outbreak situation is being alleviated.
Deputy Prime Minister/Commerce Minister Jurin Laksanawisit discussed the joint efforts with Chinese charges d’affaires Yang Xin. He said that the Chinese government was lending a helping hand to friendly nations when its virus outbreak situation was being relieved.
“Thaland has sought assistance from China in relation to medical supplies such as surgical masks, N95 masks, personal protective equipment, COVID-10 test kits and product discounts. I thank the Chinese government for offering the friendly help,” Mr Jurin said.
Apart from sourcing surgical masks from China, the government was asking local factories to further increase their production of the masks as well, he said.
Mr Yang said Thailand and China were closely cooperating on their joint war against COVID-19 and China was helping friendly nations as its outbreak situation was improving.
“China has been pleased and impressed with assistance it received and is ready to help other nations when it comes to treatment methods, medical supplies and protective equipment,” he said. (TNA)
