NAKHON RATCHASIMA, Feb 19 (TNA) – Prime Minister Gen
Prayut Chan-ocha gave moral support and remedial payment to the victims of the
Korat’s shooting rampage during his visit to Nakhon Ratchasima on Wednesday.
The money, 34.5 million baht in total came from the disaster
relief fund and was handed over to families of 27 people, killed in the incident.
Each family received one million baht and those who were injured got 100,000
baht each. People who were severely
wounded received 200,000 baht each.
After the handing-over ceremony, the prime minister
expressed his sorrow over the tragic loss and gave moral support to the injured
and families of the dead victims.
He then travelled to Terminal 21 mall,
where the gunman carried out the shooting spree on Feb 8 and was holed up for 17 hours. Thirty persons were killed and 58 others
were injured in the mass shooting.
Gen. Prayut met shop operators at the mall and assured
them the government had assistance measures put in place for affected people,
so they can be soon back to normal life. (MCOT)
