UTTARADIT, Dec 19 (TNA) – Thai rock star Artiwara “Toon
Bodyslam” Kongmalai who raised 1.3 billion baht on his cross-country charity
run in 2017 has started another run to garner funds for seven hospitals in the
North.
Artiwar began his 300-kilometer charity run at a public park
in Uttaradit city Thursday morning, heading for Phrae, Lampang, Lamphun before
ending in Chiang Mai on Sunday.
Over 10,000 runners joined him at the start of the campaign,
with many more expected along the way.
The front man of Bodyslam rock band, in 2017, collected some
1.3 billion baht from the 55-day run covering over 2,000 kilometers from the
southern border of Betong to Mae Sai in the north. The campaign is called “Kao Khon La Kao,”
which also the name of his charity foundation.
This latest run is one of the five regional runs that are
offshoots of the Kao Khon La Kao.
Artiwara made the first leg in June in the Northeast followed by another
the South in October.
In the third leg, he will end the run with a mini marathon
in the city of Chiang Mai on Sunday, hoping to draw the largest group of
runners in the final 10 kilometers.
The famous rocker said he was overwhelmed by the support and
vowed to hand over donations to improve medical equipment at seven hospitals in
the northern region.(TNA)
