SONGKHLA, Sept 21 (TNA) – Related officials on Saturday travelled along roads in Songkhla’s Hat Yai district, urging people to beware of negative effects from smog caused by forest fires which blew from Indonesia.
Officials also asked people to wear face masks when they go out and expose to haze open air and visit doctors if they develop sickness.
By early Saturday, the Regional Environmental Office in Songkhla province reported that several areas in the South were still affected by poor air quality caused by smoke from forest fires in Indonesia’s Sumatra Island.
Average concentrations of PM2.5, or particulate matter in Hat Yai was measured at 62 microgrammes per cubic metre and in Yala province was at the average of 57 microgrammes.
Concerned authorities also found that the heat on Sumatra island increased to 467 spots, up from 351 spots on Friday. (TNA)
