SONGKHLA, Sept 9 (TNA) – Many Thai couples tie their knots
on Monday, the ninth day of the ninth month in 2019 which is considered an
auspicious date.
At district offices such as that of Hat Yai district,
Songkhla province, higher number of couple registered their marriage on Monday
out of their belief that the auspicious date would bring great advance in life.
The number nine in Thai sounds like the word for
“progress.”
Others opted to make merit at temples, giving alms to monks
and release animal to accrue merit.
One of the merit makers at Hat Yai Nai Temple was a senior
official who celebrated his birthday.
A deputy temple abbot Phra Palad Polakrit gave a noble
advice that the auspice came inseparable with doing good deeds for propitious
