BANGKOK, Aug 27 (TNA) – Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha presented Prime Minister’s Export Award and encouraged exporters to develop Thailand into a production center of Southeast Asia.
Thirty-one companies received 34 awards for the outstanding development of their internationally competitive products and services based on innovations and technologies.
The prime minister congratulated the award winners and said that the international competitiveness of products and services was part of the government’s policies for national economic development.
The government was training operators to apply technologies to improve their businesses and providing them with access to finance and markets, Gen Prayut said.
He said he hoped that exporters and producers would develop Thailand to be a center of quality products and services of ASEAN while maintaining Thai characteristics.
Thai exporters always placed importance to the development of products and services and award-winning exporters proved determination to promote the country’s international trade and increase the values of Thailand’s products and services, Gen Prayut said.
The awardees also inspired other operators to improve their products and services for export, he said. (TNA)
