KRABI, Oct 12 (TNA)- A seven-meter-long whale shark has been spotted at Ao Pa Long of Koh Phi Phi Island in the southern province of Krabi, much to the delight of divers and snorkelers.
The whale shark appeared before the eyes of tourists taken by diving instructors and tour guides to the diving site on the east coast of Phi Phi Island on Thursday.
A tour operator captured the video image of the marine mammal feeding on plankton and small fish.
Approximately 100 whale sharks have been recorded roaming through Thai waters, according to the Department of Coastal and Marine Resources.
The sighting of the whale shark proved abundant food and good ecological condition of the ocean, a diving instructor said.
Everyone was excited watching the whale shark without disturbing it, he said.
Whale shark sightings have been reported in the area this week.(TNA)
