BANGKOK, Oct 9 (TNA) – A Thai Airways Boeing 747-400 from Guangzhou skidded off a runway at Suvarnabhumi Airport last night amid heavy rain. An investigation is being conducted to determine the cause of the accident, said a THAI executive.
Flt.Lt. Prathana Pattanasiri, Thai Airways International’s Vice President of Aviation Safety, Security and Standards Department said the TG 679 flight skidded off the runway while landing at 10.48 pm. on Monday.
The pilot managed to land safely and all 115 passengers and crew members are safe. There were no injuries. It is expected that the runway on the western side will be reopened by today after the plane is moved away from the site. (TNA)
