BANGKOK, Dec 17 – Total Access Communication Plc (DTAC) announced to compensate its mobile phone subscribers for their lost opportunities to obtain subsidies under the co-payment scheme of the government.
The compensation was set to start on Dec 17 after the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission convened DTAC representatives to explain why its phone service users did not receive one-time passwords to complete their registration for the co-payment scheme.
After the meeting, DTAC apologized to customers and promised compensation worth up to 3,500 baht in the forms of phone and internet usage fees and discounts on mobile phone prices.
DTAC said it would contact affected customers via SMS as soon as possible and they could claim the compensation on Dec 17-23.
Registration for the second phase of the co-payment scheme was set for Dec 16. Participants can buy food, drinks and other products at small shops and the government subsidizes 50% of their payment, limited at 150 baht a day and at the total of 3,500 baht from January to March next year. (TNA)
