BANGKOK, March 22 (TNA) – Thailand welcomed more than 5.5 million foreign tourists in the first three months of this year, generating an income of 200 billion baht, said Deputy Government Spokesperson Traisulee Traisaranakul.
The overview of Thailand’s tourism situation saw continuous increase in the number of incoming tourists and domestic travel of the Thais.
According to the report of Ministry of Tourism and Sports, the country was visited by 5,578,721 foreign tourists during January 1 and March 18, 2023, which generated the revenue of over 215 billion Baht.
However, with the notable increase of tourists entering Thailand, airport bottleneck has become a problem, with long lines of passengers at the airline counters and the immigration checkpoints. Airfares are also reported to hike up considerably.
She said concerned agencies are now working together to immediately address these problems. (TNA)
