30 กรุงเทพ 29 ก.ย.- สำนักข่าวไทย บมจ.อสมท จำกัด (มหาชน) กับสำนักข่าวอีร์นา (IRNA: the Islamic Republic News Agency) ของอิหร่านลงนามความร่วมมือด้านข่าว กระชับความสัมพันธ์ที่มีมายาวนานภายใต้เครือข่ายแลกเปลี่ยนข่าวในระดับภูมิภาคเอเชีย-แปซิฟิก นายสิโรตม์ รัตนามหัทธนะ กรรมการและรักษาการตำแหน่งกรรมการผู้อำนวยการใหญ่ อสมท เป็นผู้ลงนามในนามของสำนักข่าวไทยและนายซัยยิด เรซา โนบัคตี เอกอัครราชทูตอิหร่านประจำประเทศไทยเป็นผู้ลงนามในนามของสำนักข่าวอีร์นา เอกอัครราชทูตอิหร่านกล่าวว่า ความร่วมมือของสำนักข่าวทั้งสองในการแลกเปลี่ยนข่าวจะช่วยให้ทั้งสองประเทศเข้าถึงข้อมูลที่แท้จริงของในแต่ละประเทศ สำนักข่าวไทยจะได้เข้าถึงข้อมูลของแหล่งข่าวในอิหร่านนอกเหนือไปจากการได้รับข้อมูลจากสื่อตะวันตก เพื่อที่จะได้รายงานข้อมูลจากทั้งสองด้านให้แก่ผู้ชม โดย MoU ฉบับนี้ได้มีการปรับปรุงเนื้อหาในทันสมัยสอดรับกับภูมิทัศน์ด้านสื่อที่เปลี่ยนแปลงไปในปัจจุบัน สำนักไทยและสำนักข่าวอีร์นามีความร่วมมือกันมานาน เนื่องจากต่างเป็นสมาชิกขององค์การสำนักข่าวแห่งภูมิภาคเอเชีย-แปซิฟิก (The Organization of Asia Pacific News agencies : OANA) เอกอัครราชทูตอิหร่านกล่าวเพิ่มเติมถึงความร่วมมือระหว่างอิหร่านกับไทยว่าอิหร่านตั้งเป้าจะเพิ่มจำนวนนักท่องเที่ยวอิหร่านมาไทย เมื่อสถานการณ์โควิดดีขึ้น และมองว่าจะมีการขยายความร่วมมือด้านต่างๆในอนาคตนอกเหนือจากด้านการท่องเที่ยวการค้าและอุตสาหกรรม – สำนักข่าวไทย
