BANGKOK, August 13 (TNA) – A Myanmar migrant worker has
been arrested for murdering his Thai employer and hid the body in a wardrobe.
The body of Ponsak Wattawanichkul, 72, was found in the
wardrobe inside his house in Bangkok’s Bangsue district on Monday. The former district council member and owner
of an ice factory apparently died of serious head wounds. Police said they found blood stains on the
stairs leading to his room.
CCTV images show the Myanmar worker who was at the house
during the time of murder disappeared.
He was later apprehended in Samut Sakhon province.
In a press briefing on Tuesday, deputy national police chief
Pol General Chalermkiat Sriworakhan said the 19-year-old man named Min Htwe confessed of murdering his employer out of anger.
Min Htwe had been working for Ponsak for two months and, he
claimed, was verbally abused by his employer.
He would be brought to the crime scene to reenact his crime
before being prosecuted for the murder, Pol General Chalermkiat said.(TNA)
