BANGKOK, July 30 (TNA) — Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha arrived at the Defence Ministry in Bangkok at 7.33am on Tuesday to assume his concurrent position as the defence minister.
Accompanied by Deputy Defence Minister Chaichan Changmongkol and the chiefs of the armed forces, Gen Prayut paid respect to the City Pillar and then entered the Defence Ministry.
Gen Prayut and his delegation were welcomed by guards of honor from the three armed forces, then paid respect to holy spirits at the ministry and were briefed on the work of the ministry.
Before the briefing, Gen Prayut inspected an ancient artesian well that emerged when a parking lot subsided within the Defence Ministry’s compound last Friday. The well is about 9 meters deep and its water is murky. Its mouth is surrounded by a circular wall of ancient bricks and measures 1.20 meters in diameter. (TNA)
