BANGKOK, June 14 (TNA) – The Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand will sell documents on terms for a bidding contest for a floating solar array contract on June 20. It will make the world’s biggest hybrid power project.
EGAT deputy governor Pattana Sangsriroujana said the bidding contest would lead to the installation of a 2-billion-baht floating solar array at the Sirindhorn hydropower dam in Ubon Ratchathani province. It will be capable of generating 45 megawatts of electricity. It was a pilot project of EGAT and would make the world’s largest hybrid power project, he said.
“A contractor for engineering, procurement and construction will be selected through international competitive bidding to minimize costs. When the bid winner is concluded, the project will be submitted to the new cabinet for approval,” Mr Pattana said.
EGAT plans to generate 2,725 megawatts of electricity from its hydro-floating solar hybrid project from 2020 to 2037. (TNA)
