BANGKOK, June 3 (TNA) – The prime minister led representatives of the government and the private sector to give alms to Buddhist monks and then did volunteering services on the occasion of Her Majesty the Queen’s birthday.
Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha, also the chief of the National Council for Peace and Order, and his wife Naraporn led the people to give alms to 410 monks on the occasion of the birthday of Her Majesty Queen Suthida Bajrasudhabimalalakshana at the Sanam Luang ground.
Privy councilors, cabinet ministers, Parliament President Chuan Leekpai, Senate Speaker Pornpetch Wichitcholchai, the chiefs of the Supreme Court, independent organizations and the armed forces, the Bangkok governor and representatives of the government and the private sector joined the activity.
The government organized activities in Bangkok and other provinces to mark Her Majesty the Queen’s birthday.
Then the prime minister and his wife signed their name in a book to extend their best wishes towards Her Majesty the Queen in the Grand Palace.
Afterwards they joined volunteering services with other volunteers who cleaned the Klong Lod Canal and improved landscape in the area in honor of Her Majesty the Queen. The prime minister also boarded a boat to inspect Klong Lod which was an ancient moat.
The government will improve the environment along the moat to honor His Majesty the King’s instruction to improve the environment and develop the sustainably good life of people. The improvement of the canal will start on the birthday anniversary of His Majesty the King on July 28, 2019, to June 3, 2021.
Later the prime minister boarded a vehicle to inspect the environment from Wat Ratchabophit Sathit Maha Simaram to the Pak Klong Talad market and met people at the market. (TNA)
