BANGKOK, May 21 (TNA) — The Department of International Trade Promotion is promoting Thailand’s event organization services in India and introducing Thai operators in this field to Indian counterparts.
Supatra Sawaengsri, director of the Thai Trade Center in Mumbai, said the Indo-Thai MICE Business Matching fair was recently organized in Mumbai and the department brought representatives of 12 Thai event business companies to the fair. There the business representatives met 244 Indian business people who were in trade fair, wedding planning, tourism and event businesses.
Each Thai company discussed possible business deals with 35-50 Indian business people. The discussion led to about 500 business partnerships that would result in the trade value of more than 100 million baht, Miss Supatra said.
The fair received unexpectedly great interest from Indian business people and they together with Thai business counterparts agreed that the event was a good start for their business partnerships and should be developed, she said.
Joining the trip, Kawin Kittiboonya, president of the Thai Exhibition Association, said all Thai operators visiting the fair were impressed because Indian business people were overwhelmingly interested in it. India was a highly potential market and Thailand could expand its event business in the country, he said.
During the trip to India, Thai business people also visited Bombay Exhibition Center, Jio Garden and World Trade Center to inspect the nature of event organizations in India. (TNA)
