BANGKOK, May 6 (TNA) – His Majesty the King appeared majestic during his royal procession in full regalia in inner Bangkok on May 5.
King Rama X sat on the Budtan Thong royal palanquin in the procession to Wat Bovoranives, Wat Rajabopidh and Wat Phra Chetuphon to pay respect to revered Buddha images and the relics of former kings. The procession included 1,368 officials and stretched 403.5 meters along its 7.15-kilometer route.
Her Majesty Queen Suthida and Her Royal Highness Princess Bajrakitiyabha in their full royal guard uniforms accompanied the royal procession. Other royal family members witnessed the procession along with huge crowds of people on both sides of the route.
The Liap Phranakhon procession was ceremonially organized for a newly crowned king to see the living conditions of his subjects. On the same occasion, citizens had their chance to see their new king. (TNA)
