BANGKOK, April 23 (TNA) — The government has worked out a plan to accommodate people from provinces who will witness coronation-related ceremonies.
Pol Lt Gen Kraiboot Suadsong, commissioner of the Office of Police Strategy, said the people would be received at seven locations namely Royal Turf Club, Manangkhasila Mansion, Phitsanulok Mansion, Wat Thepsirin, Rama VIII Bridge, Memorial Bridge and Phra Pinklao Bridge.
There would be royally sponsored kitchens and medical units that would serve the people who would see the royal parade after the coronation, he said.
There would also be exhibitions on the coronation and concerts to entertain people, he said.
Besides, Pol Lt Gen Kraiboot said the government would arrange for parking lots at Muang Thong Thani, Government Complex, Royal Turf Club, Future Park Rangsit shopping center, Bangkok International Trade & Exhibition Center, Phutthamonthon Park, Wong Wian Yai and CentralPlaza WestGate shopping center. There would be free shuttle buses to bring people to the seven meeting points.
The State Railway of Thailand would run free trains from Ayutthaya, Nakhon Pathom, Chachoengsao and Mae Klong to Bangkok on May 4-6 and the Marine Department will provide for free ferry services.
The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration would open the Thai-Japanese Youth Center and Phutthamonthon Park to accommodate people who would stay overnight. There would also be free buses to bring people from the places to ceremonial venues, Pol Lt Gen Kraiboot said.
His Majesty the King told officials to do their best to welcome people who were considered as His Majesty the King’s guests, he said. (TNA)
