BANGKOK, March 22 (TNA) – Thailand’s major political
parties held big election campaign rallies on Friday in their last-ditch effort
to garner supports ahead of the Sunday poll. 
On the final day of campaigning, the Democrat party’s rally
started at Bangkok City Hall with veteran and young-blood candidates taking the
stage.
In an interview with MCOT reporter, Democrat Party leader
Abhisit Vejjajiva said his party offered practical policies that had been
formulated from constant consultations with interest groups.
Democrat prime minister candidate Abhisit later gave his
speech at the end of the rally.
A Pheu Thai Party rally was staged at the Thai-Japanese
Stadium in Din Daeng district. Its prime minister candidate Sudarat Keyuraphan
took the stage, focusing on economic issues with a vow to tackle poverty.
Also at the Thai-Japanese Stadium, the Future Forward Party’s
rally drew a large crowd at another building.
The Party’s leader Thanathorn Juangroongruangkit addressed his
supporters emphasising his stance against the military-led government.

Palang Pracharath Party’s rally at Thephasadin Stadium in Bangkok.
Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha, who has been nominated as the party’s
prime minister candidate, took part in the rally. (TNA)
