BANGKOK, March 22 (TNA) –Thai film products and services prove to be popular at the Hong Kong International Film & TV Market (FILMART) 2019 event and their sales are expected to exceed 2 billion baht there, according to the Culture Ministry.
Regarding the event scheduled for March 18-21, Kitsayapong Siri, permanent secretary of the ministry, said that on the first two days of the fair at least 1200 operators visited Thailand’s booth and there were 388 negotiations for businesses worth 2.07 billion baht with Thai operators in the film industry.
The negotiations covered product purchases and various production services including settings, studios and visual effects.
Besides, Thailand held the Sino-Thai & Greater Bay Area Film & Television Cooperation Exchange Forum where at least 150 Thai and Chinese investors were present. Thai and Chinese operators also signed five memorandums of understanding on co-investment plans, Mr Kitsayapong said.
The operators who visited Thailand’s booth also set many future meetings on their plans to make movies, series and advertisements in Thailand, he said. (TNA)
