BANGKOK, March 4 (TNA) — Deputy Prime Minister/Defence Minister Prawit Wongsuwon has urged governmental organizations to integrate their surveillance camera systems.
Defence Ministry’s spokesman Lt Gen Kongcheep Tantrawanit said Gen Prawit’s instruction went to the Interior Ministry, the Ministry of Digital Economy and Society, the Royal Thai Police Office and the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration.
The deputy prime minister wanted the organizations to come up with relevant information on the close-circuit television integration in a meeting on March 11.
The order responded to slow progress in CCTV maintenance and integration and the enhanced usage of information from the devices. The tasks must be accomplished quickly to support work for public safety, crime suppression and traffic facilitation, Lt Gen Kongcheep said.
“Gen Prawit ordered all ministries and relevant governmental organizations to follow the important policy of the government. It must be implemented quickly and effectively,” he said.
The Customs Department, the Department of Airports, the Immigration Bureau, the Highways Department, the Metropolitan Police Bureau and Airports of Thailand PCL were also among the organizations to implement the policy, Lt Gen Kongcheep said.
“If all governmental organizations and the private sector cooperate, it will benefit the society,” the spokesman of the Defence Ministry said. (TNA)
