BANGKOK, Feb 1 (TNA) – The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration asks for cooperation from over 3,000 high-rise buildings in the capital to sprinkle water on Feb 3 to fight air pollution.
Sakchai Boonma, director of the City Planning Department said that his department has sent letters to owners of 3,200 high-rise buildings and 150 buildings under construction to join hands in reducing ultra-fine particulate matter.
The new effort is planned to start at 9 a.m. on Sunday and will continue until the dust situation eases.
Meanwhile, in another attempt to protect vulnerable groups, several banks allow pregnant employees or those with underlying illnesses to work from home to avoid risks from dust exposure.
Those include Kasikorn Bank, Siam Commercial Bank, Government Savings Bank and SME Development Bank. (TNA)
