SA KAEO, Jan 16 (TNA) – Thai customs officers have seized
hundreds of pirated goods and fireworks from smugglers at a Thai-Cambodian
border crossing in Sa Kaeo province.
Onn Untavisup, Customs Office chief of Aranyaprathet border
crossing, said in routine operation officers found two abandoned carts near the
checkpoint Wednesday morning.
They found counterfeit brand-named clothes in one cart and
nearly 70,000 firecrackers in the other.
Onn said he suspected Cambodian merchants hired porters to
smuggle the items into a border market in Thailand but the porters left the
carts out of fear of arrests.(TNA)
