BANGKOK, Jan 16 (TNA) — Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha encouraged teachers to catch up with technologies and teach students to use them properly.
He sent the message while presiding over a ceremony to mark the 63rd National Teacher’s Day at the Teachers Council of Thailand.
“Teachers play important roles in developing human resources of the society and are considered as parents of their students. The roles never change although the society does,” Gen Prayut said.
He urged teachers to catch up with technologies, teach students about technologies and their proper use, and encourage students to express themselves constructively.
The Teachers Council of Thailand organized a two-day event to mark the National Teachers’ Day on Jan 16-17, with a focus on morality among teachers and honesty among students.
The event which marked its 63rd anniversary was aimed at recognizing teachers’ important roles, honoring teachers and campaigning for the development of teaching professions.
On the occasion, the prime minister presented souvenirs and awards to his former teacher at the Chulachomklao Royal Military Academy as well as outstanding teachers and educational professionals. (TNA)
