PATTANI, Jan 12 (TNA) — At least two insurgents were killed while one defence volunteer and a nine-year-old girl wounded during a clash with combined government forces before dawn Saturday, officials said.
They said the fresh fighting erupted after some 100 combined government forces surrounded a house in a village of the southern province of Pattani.

Government forces later entered the house and found two insurgent bodies, officials said, adding that the duo carried several arrest warrants, including their involvement on the Thursday’s incident in which four defence volunteers were gunned down in Pattani.
The Thursday’s shooting began when the insurgents dressed in army uniforms arrived at a school and opened fire at the victims who were guarding the school premises. The insurgents took away automatic rifles and fled the school without harming teachers and pupils. (TNA)
