BANGKOK, Jan 12 (TNA) — Thai children nationwide on Saturday celebrate National Children’s Day with the most exciting event is to have an opportunity to sit on Prime Minister Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha’s chair at Bangkok’s Government House.
For his part, Gen Prayut early in the day presided over the opening of National Children’s Day at the Education Ministry where four major zones including Thinking Kids, Good Kids, Happy Kids and the Model Kids are temporarily built.
With Gen Prayut’s motto encouraging ‘Children, Youths, Volunteers to Join Forces for National Development’, the prime minister told children celebrating at the ministry that he hoped that children who would grow in future to devote themselves as volunteers, to unite, be creative and become a strong force in developing the country.
Gen Prayut stressed that his government attaches importance to both formal and non-formal education and the government plans to enlarge the non-formal education to workers at factories later.
He later presented gifts to children before travelling to the Government House and met children who were waiting for him anxiously.
At the Government House, Gen Prayut watched Khon performances before meeting and taking photos with 21 underprivileged children from southern border provinces. He later allowed them to enter his office in Thai Khu Fah Building and sat on his chair.
Besides meeting the prime minister, the children had an opportunity to see robot and dinosaur mascot shows, attend various recreational and knowledge-enhanced activities.
The children also have a chance to visit of Thai Khu Fah Building and cabinet meeting room. (TNA)
