BANGKOK, Jan 10 (TNA) – Thailand is ranked among the
world’s top 10 Best Places to Retire in 2019 in the Annual Global Retirement
Index, conducted by International Living (IL) magazine.
Panama tops the list, followed by Costa Rica,
Mexico, Ecuador, Malaysia, Columbia, Portugal, Peru, Thailand and Spain
respectively.
According to IL magazine, Thailand enjoys the
warm-water coastlines of both the Andaman Sea and the Gulf of Thailand. This is
a country that has never been colonized by any Western countries, so Thai
culture is untouched, rich, and ancient. What’s more, it’s ideal for expat
living.
In respond to the rankings, Governor of the Tourism
Authority of Thailand, Yuthasak Supasorn said it is good news that creates good
image for Thailand.
Foreign retirees choose to live in many Thai
provinces such as Chiang Mai, Nakhon Phanom, Nongkhai, where they enjoy nature
and low living cost.
TAT will continue to promote charms of secondary
provinces to be attractive destinations of local and foreign tourists, he said.
