BANGKOK, Dec 28 (TNA) — Two bomb explosions on Samila beach in Songkhla province would not affect tourism but should boost anti-violence unity among local people, Immigration Police Commissioner Surachate Hakparn said.
He was responding to two bomb explosions on Samila beach Wednesday night and two more explosions at high-voltage power poles in Khuan Niang and Bang Klam districts of Songkhla yesterday.
Police and soldiers were investigating the issues and hunting for bombers, Pol Lt Gen Surachate said.
As a Songkhla native, he said, local people loved their province and disliked violence.
The incidents would boost the unity and strength of Songkhla people in opposing violence, Pol Lt Gen Surachate said.
There would not be an impact on tourism and investment in the province as arrivals of foreign tourists were rising especially among visitors from China, Russia and India, he said. (TNA)
