BANGKOK, DEC 24 (TNA) – Thailand’s border trade grew 5.81
percent this year through November, totaling 1.27 trillion in value, Commerce
Ministry announced on Monday.
The Ministry’s Department of Foreign Trade revealed the
figure indicating custom-cleared trade with four neighboring countries of
Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, Malaysia and Myanmar.
Director of the Department Adul Chotinisakorn said bilateral
trade with Malaysia amounted to the highest among the four trade partners,
growing 0.84 percent to Bt525.6 billion.
In spite of global economic uncertainties, the Department
remained confident that border trade outlook would continue upward trends, he
said.
The Department projected the border trade this year to
surpass Bt1.4 trillion and Bt1.6 trillion for next year. (TNA)
