TAK, DEC 18 (TNA) – A Myanmar couple and their two sons have
been brutally murdered in a shack in Thailand’s border town of Mae Sot.
A suspect has been identified as 48-year-old Myanmar
national known as Suay, who is believed to be in hiding somewhere in border
areas of Mae Sot in Tak province and Myanmar’s Myawaddy town.
His motive to murder the couple along with their
four-month-old baby and four-year-old son is still unknown.
The couple also had two daughters who, at that time, stayed
overnight at their grandmother’s.
Aung Khin Myint, a labour attaché at the Myanmar Embassy,
met with the two girls who are treated as witnesses at Mae Sot Police Station
on Monday.
The diplomat was briefed on the murder case, legal procedure
and assistance to the traumatized girls.
An arrest warrant for the suspect has been issued while
police expect to locate and arrest him soon.(TNA)
