BANGKOK, Dec 17 (TNA) – Miss Philippines Catriona Gray was crowned Miss Universe 2018 at the beauty pageant in Bangkok on Monday.
Tamaryn Green of South Africa was first runner-up followed by Miss Venezuela, Sthefany Gutiérrez. Miss Puerto Rico and Miss Vietnam were among the five finalists.
Meanwhile, the host delegate, Sophida Kanchanarin did her best to reach the top ten finalists.
Miss Laos On-anong Homsombath won the National Costume. Her elaborate costume features a half-human, half-bird from folklore.
The 67th Miss Universe beauty pageant saw the first ever transgender contestant, Miss Spain,Angela Ponce.
She did not make it to the final round of 20 but her appearance at the pageant made history as the first transgender woman to compete in Miss Universe. (TNA)
