BANGKOK, Dec 12 (TNA) – A policeman has been sacked
after he shot a French tourist dead at a condominium building in Sukhumvit area
this morning.
Pol Sen Sgt Maj Kantapong Huadsri, attached to the
Lumpini station surrendered and confessed to shooting the 41-year-old French
man, identified as Malik Djamel.
Immigration Bureau chief Pol Lt Gen Surachate Hakpal
said the policeman and the French tourist had a quarrel at a bar in Soi
Sukhumvit 11/1.
They got into a drunken fight and the policeman left
the bar and appeared at the building in Soi Sukhumvit 13 with a gun.
He shot the French man in the head and torso in
front of a doughnut shop on the first floor of the building.
The man died at the scene. (TNA)
