NONTHABURI, Nov 28 (TNA) — The Motor Expo 2018 was opened to journalists with many car makers introducing electric vehicles. Its organiser expects 55 billion baht will be circulated thanks to the event.
Chalatchai Paphatpong, vice president of the Motor Expo-organising committee, said the event reached its 35th occasion and was organised with the theme of “Enjoy Driving Before Driveless Era”. It gathers 36 automobile manufacturers from nine countries and 23 motorcycle manufacturers from seven countries.
About 20 new makes will be introduced in the exposition that is expected to attract 1.5 million visitors, up 15% from last year, Mr Chalatchai said.
He expected 55 billion baht to be circulated in this event, up 10%, with luxury cars and sports utility vehicles to be the most popular choices among buyers.
In the event, automobiles to be introduced for the first time in Southeast Asia are Aston Martin Vantage, BMW 8-series and Porsche Macan.
Those to be debuted in Thailand include Honda Accord, Hyundai Kona Electric and Toyota Camry.
The Motor Expo also introduces its Autonomous Test Drive Area for visitors to try automatic braking and parking systems.
Almost all car makers present their electric vehicles including Chinese and Japanese manufacturers that sell their small electric vehicles in the exposition. (TNA)
