BANGKOK, Nov 16 (TNA) — Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha will attend the 26th APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting in Papua New Guinea that will focus on the application of digital technology for sustainable connectivity of global economy.
The meeting of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) is set in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea, on Nov 17-18. Gen Prayut was scheduled to leave Thailand for the meeting at 8.30pm on Nov 16.
Deputy government spokesman Werachon Sukondhapatipak said the meeting would be organised with the theme of “Harnessing Inclusive Opportunities, Embracing the Digital Future”.
The theme is in accordance with those of regional and global forums that emphasize the application of digital technology and economy to drive global businesses, he said.
The APEC meeting would discuss the integration of regional economies, the promotion of inclusive and sustainable growth, and structural reform for inclusive growth. All the agenda valued the application of digital technology, Lt Gen Werachon said.
On the occasion, Prime Minister would attend a meeting of the ASEAN Business Council and have bilateral talks with leaders of China, Hong Kong and Papua New Guinea, the deputy government spokesman said. (TNA)
