PRACHUAP KHIRI KHAN, Nov 10 (TNA) — Flooding in the central province of Prachuap Khiri Khan, resulted from heavy downpours on Friday, has improved while cars travelling to the South are possible now, said the provincial deputy governor.
Severe flooding in Bang Saphan and Bang Saphan Noi districts in the province has improved now, but floodwater could be seen on some roads in the two districts, said Deputy Governor Pirom Niltaya.
Related government authorities have dispatched food and drinking water to flood victims while people in some provincial areas may have to evacuate to higher ground if rain continues falling.
Floodwater which hit Bang Saphan Hospital on Friday has gradually receded, said Mr Pirom, adding that services at the hospital are not yet fully resumed.
On concerns that three reservoirs in Bang Saphan district could be affected, he said water from the three reservoirs are being released through spillways at the normal level and they remained strong.
Village chiefs as well as people in the province are asked to closely monitor the weather in the area for a while, especially those living in risky-prone areas. (TNA)
