BANGKOK, June 21 (TNA) – Thailand’s Former Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra celebrated her 48th birthday on Sunday by performing a religious ceremony and merit-making activities.
Ms Yingluck, accompanied by her husband Anusorn and her son Supasek Amornchat, travelled to ‘ Wat Sansuk’, a Buddhist temple in Minburi district on the outskirt of Bangkok, to make merit.
Ms Yingluck was welcomed by a large crowd of former member of Pheu Thai Party which formed the previous ousted government. She later attended a birthday lunch with members of the party.
Ms Yingluck was the 28th prime minister and the first female premier of Thailand. Her government was toppled in the coup on May 22, 2014 while she is banned from entering politics for five years on her government-sponsored rice pledging scheme. She is also facing several other charges.(TNA)
