BANGKOK, June 17 (TNA) – Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha and key administrators including Bangkok governor Chadchart Sittipunt had a press conference after attending a meeting of the Center for COVID-19 Situation Administration.
Gen Prayut said that the CCSA had an important meeting today because it reached resolutions on changing regulations related to the present COVID-19 situation which improved in terms of declining new cases and fatalities.
The prime minister said the meeting was a good opportunity because he met the Bangkok governor and Pattaya mayor Poramet Ngampichet. He said they agreed to cooperate with each other on every matter.
Gen Prayut said that they knew each other well and there would not be a problem on their cooperation because they wanted to serve the public.
“All parties understand each other. There is not a problem. The country must progress,” he said.
The CCSA issued a special invitation to the Pattaya mayor because Pattaya was a tourist destination while the Bangkok governor normally attended CCSA meetings, the prime minister said.
Also present at the press conference were Deputy Prime Minister and Public Health Minister Anutin Charnvirakul and Interior Minister Anupong Paochinda.
They posed for photos in front of the Thai Khu Fah Building. The prime minister held the hands of Mr Chadchart and Mr Poramet during the photo session.
Mr Chadchart was transport minister under the Pheu Thai Party before then army chief Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha led the coup in 2014. (TNA)
