BANGKOK, March 21 (TNA) – Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha was at work as usual on his 68th birthday anniversary, advising well-wishers to only sending him cards and vases of flowers.
Before his arrival at Government House, Gen Prayut reportedly welcomed Interior Minister Anupong Paochinda at his residence in the 1st Infantry Regiment. Observers assumed Gen Anupong was there to extend his birthday wishes.
At Government House, Gen Prayut did not have an appointment with representatives of an outside organization or any armed forces who had earlier usually showed up there on his birthday. There were reports that the prime minister asked well-wishers to send him vases of flowers and cards only.
The prime minister was expected to allow only officials at Thai Khu Fah Building to extend him their best wishes in person due to ongoing COVID-19 controls. This morning officials were delivering bouquets to the building. (TNA)
