BANGKOK, Jan 18 (TNA) – The cabinet on Tuesday approved an allocation of 1.4 billion baht from the central budget to fund measures and programmes to ease the rising cost of living for people.
Government Spokesman, Thanakorn Wangboonkongchana said the Prime Minister ordered the Commerce Ministry to report retailed prices of goods weekly and to sell essential goods at Thong Fah (Blue Flag) low-priced shops to alleviate hardship on consumers.
The cabinet approved the budget of 1.48 billion baht, proposed by the Commerce Ministry to implement discount campaigns for three months.
Essential products and food such as chicken and eggs will be sold at discounted prices and will be available at more than 3,000 distribution points across the country including fresh markets, convenience stores and mobile groceries. (TNA)
