TAK, Dec 27 (TNA) – A clash between Myanmar soldiers and ethnic troops near Tak province had heavy impacts on local Thai people as about 5,000 Myanmar people already fled the battlefield on their homeland across the Moei River to the Thai side.
The battle between the Myanmar government and the Karen National Union resumed early this morning. It occurred opposite Ban Don Chai village of Mae Tao sub-district in Mae Sot district.
People witnessed the worst fight with rocket-propelled grenades and machine guns in two weeks. Locals of Mae Sot municipality heard the explosions although they were 10 kilometers away.
